Stress Book Don't be stressed by Stress

Your health, body and stress

Your Health, Body and Stress

Basically, what you really need to understand is that stress is going to be a source and a major factor of illness, disease, and advanced aging for you. Controlling the stress in your life, and at very least, recognizing that you have stress in your life, you can prevent some of the ‘side effects’ that stress will have on your physical being.

Have a look through the following symptoms of stress, if like me you may find some of them surprising

Here are some of the psychological symptoms:

  • a sinking feeling that wont go away
  • a short temper or irritability
  • waking up worrying
  • thinking or talking about your problems all of the time
  • lack of sex drive
  • feeling lonely or insecure
  • inability to make decisions
  • inability to relax
  • constant sense of frustration

And if they were not enough here are some of the physical symptoms:

  • drinking or smoking more than usual
  • pain in the neck
  • loss of appetite
  • weight gain
  • weight loss
  • tension headaches
  • aches and pains
  • upset stomach
  • grinding of teeth
  • indigestion
  • constant tiredness
  • sleeping to excess
  • palpitations

Now you can see why I mentioned aging. With some, any or all of these going on in our lives we are bound to suffer from premature aging. The problem is our bodies have been designed with a 'fight or flight' inbuilt mechanism. Early man had to protect itself, when danger was near a rush of adrenaline would flood through the body. Ready to deal with the situation at hand.

Nowadays we are not in the danger of primitive man. Our main concerns can be paying the bills, or getting the kids to school on time. We do not need an overdose of adrenalin to cope with these situations. Our bodies however react in the same way and sent the boost of high octane adrenaline.

There are very few of us that understand exactly how much of an affect that stress is going to have on our well being, so it is vital that by reading this book, you understand so you can prevent further problems in your own life.

In order to bring all of this information and all of these facts together to make sense and to apply it to your own life, we first need to look at what is meant by stress, and what stress is.
